Next Aquistion Suggestion

Since Sophos is already looking at Outdoor Wireless options.  My recommendation would be to buy AeroHive.  They've got a great product, Indoor and Outdoor Access Points and the Logo already sort of matches the Astaro Logo.

  • I would think that most of the processing is probably the IPS, etc.

  • Well... actually if you run a wireless network in "tunnel" mode (Separate Network), the ASG DOES have to process the traffic as it's basically RED-type traffic in that mode.  However, in most environments, we deploy the APs using Bridge to VLAN, which alleviates that type of processing, all the ASG does is manage the connections and rekeying, etc. therefore we can run more access points that way with less load on the ASG.
