Astaro AP with RED?

Anyone thing about connecting an Astaro AP with a RED device?  I have some situations where I need to set up a temporary location. RED is great, but running patch cables is so 1999.

Any idea or recipe on how to do this?

  • Nice. As you can imagine, the fear with any device like RED is that someone plugs in an open WAP and anyone can get into you network. Using the Astaro AP, although never a silver bullet (nothing is) definately makes managing security much easier.
  • Yep, works fine.

  • I have done it multiple times now. Works like a treat! Plug in RED, plug in AP, and away you go.

Of course, you have to have configured the RED already, and ensured the RED network is in the allowed networks, but, minimal config = maximum benefit.
