Captive Portal Blocks All Traffic without displaying the "Agree to terms" page

Just testing at home a change from Untangle to Sophos UTM for consideration at our business. I love the free home version, kudos for that!

One thing our non-profit business requires is an agreement of terms to access out guest network. I followed the instructions (pretty straight forward) and enabled it on a VLAN that passes traffic fine without it.  As soon as I turn it on it stops clients from connecting but does not pop up the terms page.  In the hotspot configuration I click the "Display Preview" and it works fine.  I am not using a Sophos hardware appliance, rather a VMware VM with smart switches for VLAN separation and a Ubiquiti wireless access point. Thanks for any advice! Oh, check firewall live log, nothing (on this VLAN) being blocked. Checked Captive portal live log, it has a single line saying the portal has started. Thanks!

  • Thanks for answering the question on the use of non-Sophos APs. So.....I had the check box "Apply guest policies" checked in the Ubiquiti controller as I was applying bandwidth limiting on that interface. Once I unchecked it everything worked fine. Thanks again Scott as that helped lead me to the correct answer.
