[Fresh from the Press: Latest KB's] Prevent guest network from accessing internal network when using the web proxy

This KB Article provides instructions on how to utilize Website Tags to secure resources in your network while still allowing Internet access for your Guest Network.

1. Create a Website entry for the protected network's CIDR range

2. Add a tag to the Website entry

3. Modify or create Web Filter profile for your Guest Network

4. Specify the Guest Network under Allowed Networks

5. For each Filter Action on this profile, select Website tag and choose Block action

For full details on the above steps, see our KB Article: Sophos UTM: Prevent guest network from accessing internal network when using the web proxy

Karlos

  • Some also might be interested in a document I maintain that I make available to members of the UTM Community, "Configure HTTP Proxy for a Network of Guests."  If you would like me to send you this document, PM me your email address. I also maintain a version auf Deutsch initially translated by fellow member hallowach when he and I did a major revision in 2013.

    Cheers - Bob
