Overwatch and battle.net

Hey

So I got battle net to update using the exceptions provided on the forum. But i cannot launch the game as its stuck at connecting to the server. Do I need to add more exceptions for overwatch as well? If so, any ideas what they are?

    did you also add 

    ^https?://([A-Za-z0-9.-]*\.)?blizzard\.com/
    ^https?://([A-Za-z0-9.-]*\.)?blzddist([1-2])*-a\.akamaihd\.net
    ^https?://([A-Za-z0-9.-]*\.)?battle.net
    ^https?://([A-Za-z0-9.-]*\.)?blizzard\.vo\.llnwd\.net/

    ^https?://([A-Za-z0-9.-]*\.)?edgesuite\.net/  (might need finetuning but thats what i use)

    and created firewall rules for the following ports (for overwatch) as per blizzard 

    TCP

    1119, 3724, 6113, 80

    UDP

    1119, 6250, 5062, 5060, 3478, 3479

    and 12000-64000 if you use voice (i kept them disabled)

     

    Sometimes 1119 tcp and udp is forgotten.

    Launch the livelog and watch what is being blocked still while launching overwatch (though last time i played it worked)

    I added the exceptions already for battle net but I forgot to add some of the port numbers listed :(

    Btw 12000-64000 are udp as well? I will try updating the configuration tomorrow.

    hi,

     

    yes  that big range 12000-64000 is UDP ports for blizzard - overwatch voice.

    So for voice do I need to enable like 2-3 ports within that range? or will 1 port suffice?

    Hi, John, and welcome to the UTM Community!

    Just watch the Firewall Live Log to see what's being blocked.  If you have a question about one of the blocks, don't post the line from the Live Log.  Alone among the logs, the Firewall Live Log presents abbreviated information in a format easier to read quickly.  Usually, you can't troubleshoot without looking at the corresponding line from the full Firewall log file.

    Hey and thanks for the warm welcome !

    I apologize for the late reply apparently overwatch was working without even forwarding the ports and I cannot figure out how or why it is working. Regardless, I have to start the game several times and then in the 3rd or 4th try then it connects to the game server. Regarding the live logs i will try to tell the IT guy to do that since its the university s firewall and see if I can tell whats blocking it again.
