Windows updates blocked

Hi:

 

I've been running Sophos UTM for almost 2 years and have had little trouble with it. After moving into a new house and starting from the beginning, I've encountered many troubles with Web Filtering. The biggest of these is I'm unable to receive Windows updates unless Web Filtering is turned off. Yet when I review the logs, there's no indication anything is being blocked. What is going on?

    Search the Web Filtering log for statuscode="5 - if you see that you will want to note the FQDN.  If creating an Exception for Antivirus doesn't fix the issue, you will need to skip the Proxy for the site.  There will likely be more than a single FQDN involved.

    I appreciate the prompt reply, Bob.

     

    When you say, "Search the Web Filtering log for statuscode="5 -  are you/we looking for statuscode = "500"?  I see a couple of those but they're not related to Microsoft. They're associated with my work laptop which doesn't receive updates within my network. 

     

    This is frustrating.

    You could search for statuscode="5.." as we're just looking for any statuscode that begins with 5.
