web filtering stopped working yesterday?

v9.407-3 - web filtering was configured months ago - local network users could access most sites with a few exclusions plus a number of sites in the skiplist.

Suddenly there was no access!

my web filtering log has the following repeated every 30 seconds

2016:10:10-19:11:22 another httpproxy[8449]: id="0003" severity="info" sys="SecureWeb" sub="http" request="(nil)" function="main" file="httpproxy.c" line="273" message="reading configuration"

is that failed to read public key message significant?

  • I should add - that is all that now appears in my log file.

When I run a policy test I get the message 'An error occurred while processing the policy test request'

Cpu is running at 11% and ram at 24%

  • Try restoring the backup made prior to the last time you applied Up2Dates.  If that doesn't work, try a reboot.  If that doesn't work, you're probably going to need to re-image from ISO, but first try deleting and re-creating the PostgreSQL files with: /etc/init.d/postgresql92 rebuild

Any luck with any of that?

    Cheers - Bob

  • Sorry, I have already re-imaged and up2dated. With the restored config web filtering is working again. I guess I'll never know the cause of it.

  • This looks interesting. Had it twice since up2dating - each time I received an INFO-141 Http proxy not running - restarted email. Web filtering still working
