Web filter vs. policy route

Hi @ all,

we are using web filter in standard mode on our UTM. Since we are connected to a governmental network we have to access some websites or services through our dedicated connection to the governmental network via a separate proxy. all other traffic will be load balanced to our WAN connections. For those governmental ressources we created a policy route which routes special ip networks through the governmental interface. Some resource aren't in that special networks but they are accessible though their fqdn over the governmental proxy.

When policy route is in place for those special networks and those special dns hosts, ip network and services (like ping or telnet) targets are routed to governmental interface but http and https traffic seems to be overwritten by webfilter and then uses standard WAN connections.

Is this a common problem or do we have a misconfigured proxy setting in place?

t4h,

André

Parents
  • Go to Web Filter Profiles, Parent Proxies.

Create a parent proxy, matching the hosts that need to go through the other proxy.

Then go to every one of your filter actions, edit them, and on Additional Options make sure the Parent Proxy is checked.
