can't access this link https://domain.dyndns.org:89

Hi, i can't access this link https://domain.dyndns.org:89 from my network.

I access the internet from SOPHOS UTM.

i added the port 89 to the misc settings, and the website still can't be opened. what can i do?

Also i have another application blocked by sophos like whatsapp calls and other webcams apps.

  • If you are using transparent mode please note the proxy only does port 80 and 443.  You need to open up ports on the firewall to allow traffic on non-standard ports.

If you are using standard mode (browser has a proxy explicitly configured) you need to add an Allowed Target Service in the Misc tab.

Please separate blocked application issues from port issues.  There are several existing threads about applications such as whatsapp.

  • Thank you Michael,

i'm using transparent mode and i already opened any services from internal network to any destination, and logically should work but the request is always blocked.

also i added the ports to Misc tab and nothing is changed.

Regarding Whatsapp Calls, why is blocked??!!!

    Thanks.

  • Regarding port 89, that is a firewall issue.  Look at firewall logs.  Give us more information.  It is really hard to people to help you if you just say "the request is always blocked" with no logs, no configuration information, no detailed steps, etc/

Regarding Whatsapp let me be more clear.  Please read existing threads first.  Then create a new post only for your Whatsapp problem, again detailing your configuration, logs, debugging steps, etc.

Try being a car mechanic and have someone phone you up saying "My car makes a funny noise.  Also I cannot parallel park.  Whats wrong?"  Your mechanic needs WAY more information that that and probably needs to deal with each issue separately.

  • Hi Michael,

i tried to trace the firewall logs... no logs appears.

should i search in the firewall logs or other logs?

also i tried with my second desktop app:

    login failed and no logs.

  • Hi, Joe, and welcome to the UTM Community!

If none of the logs mentioned in #1 in Rulz shows related activity, try #3 and #3.1.
