Transparent Mode - Terminal Services

I am trying to understand how to get individual user authentication on my terminal services servers.  This is primarily for reporting purposes as the block lists will be the same regardless.  What I have configured is transparent mode with Active Directory and blocking on authentication failure.  This results in users being reported under the first authenticated user, which makes sense since it's via IP address.  However, for testing, on my browser I put in the SG as a proxy server, but this didn't fix reporting for me as I assumed it would.

What do I need to do to get individual user authentication on the SG when connections are coming from a terminal server?

Thanks!

  • Hi, Ryan, and welcome to the UTM Community!

You should search here for a better answer, but I don't recall it being possible to achieve what you want with AD-SSO in Transparent mode.  I think you might be able to load the Sophos Authentication Agent into each user's TS profile and achieve authentication with that.   Please report your results.

If you're open to using Standard mode, check out

  • Ryan... did you ever get an answer from tech support?

I have the very same issue.   THE XG firwall has an agent for the terminal server... but looking for something for the SG...

    Thanks!
