How to create an exception from the global exceptions?

Hello,

how can I create exceptions (best practise or easiest way) from the global proxy exceptions? I want to allow specific machines only to be able to acces specific websites... I´ve recognized, that the global exceptions are always ruling over any other filter action...

One way would be to blacklist all websites from the exceptions list under that specific profile, but I think thats not a nice way....

Any ideas?

best regards

Sebastian

  • I would create a separate Web Filtering Profile for those machine, placing it at the top of the list.

  • Hi Bob,

I don´t understand how this creates an exception from the global exception list? The exceptions are valid for all filtering profiles. Of course the more specfific profile must be placed in front of the other rules, that would also match this client..

  • You can combine different match criteria in the exception. So if the exception should not work for all sources maybe it is possible to use the different criteria in the exception configuration.
