apps Sony smart TV not reachable

Hello,

I have a Sony smart tv on my network. Since I'm using the Sophos UTM I cannot reach the apps from the Sony Entertainment Network and the installed apps (Netflix, etc.) are not working.

Netflix, HBO etc. are working fine on other devices on the same network and in the logs (web filter, IPS, APT, network protection) I cannot find drop or block rules from the IP of the smart TV.

From other threads I tried to put the smart tv as a host in the transparant mode skiplist, but that did not solve this.

So I'm lost where I should start to look for what's going wrong. Any suggestions?

    Are you using DHCP to assign addresses?  If so, confirm what the TV IP is in the TVs settings menu, it may have changed.

    Now, remove the TV from the transparent proxy skiplist and try to reach SEN and run some apps.  Recheck the firewall, intrusion prevention, and web filtering logs.  Do you see and traffic from the TV IP?

    I am using a dhcp server from the UTM to assign ip addresses and after that make them static. In the static list I saw that the TV device had 2 different mac addresses assigned. Not sure why, because I'm only using the networkcable connection and no wlan. After doing what you suggested and removing it from the static list the app problem seems to be solved. It loads the apps now.

    The strange thing is now I can see that it has an ip address on the tv itself, but there is no entry in the IPv4 Lease Table. Probably have to wait a while before that's updated. Now I'm going to test if apps actually work and for instance Netflix streams the media ok.
