Flipboard Country Block exceptions

Would anyone be so kind to articulate how to set up a Country Block exception to a news aggregator site such as Flipboard? The site uses news sources from all over the world and I'm wondering if there's a "centralized" way of making an exception rule.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

  • Hi, and welcome to the User BB!

If Country Blocking is set to "From" instead of "All," you will be able to receive traffic resulting from your requests but all unrequested traffic will be blocked.

    Cheers - Bob

  • Thank you for your helpful response. And just to clarify, the 'From' category continues to block unsolicited traffic? For example, if I have the Russian Federation set to 'From,' and I wish to access news content on moscowtimes.com, it'll allow it while simultaneously blocking Mr. Badguy--using a *.ru URL, of course--from reaching me?
  • If you find that something pernicious isn't blocked, it's a miscategorization.  CB doesn't look at URLs though, only at IP addresses.

Thanks for your help. I still don't grasp why one would use "From" instead of "To." Doesn't that mean traffic coming from a blocked country's IP is allowed without any other conditions? Again, I only want to be able to access news content from that country using my iOS's Flipboard app but block all other unsolicited traffic from that same country.
