SSL Scanning Exception

So, I've noticed that for some reason the SSL Scanning Exceptions I have set up don't appear to be working correctly.

For instance, I have issues when trying to log in to GoodReads.com, I set up an exception for SSL Scanning and the two Certificate check options "Going to the following Categories" = "Education/Reference". Doing this still doesn't let me access the site (specifically to log in).



If under "Web Filter Profiles" I select my profile and choose the "HTTPS" tab and select the option to "Decrypt and Scan the following" and I choose every category with the exception of the Education/Reference category, it works perfectly fine.

What's going on here? Is there something I'm doing incorrectly? I was under the assumption that I'd be able to skip SSL scanning for certain categories using Exceptions, but that doesn't appear to be the case.

    Here's a screenshot of the Profile's HTTPS scanning section. Education/Reference isn't selected for Decrpyt and Scan, and GoodReads works fine.

    How did you conclude that the problem with the site access was related to SSL scanning?

    It looks to me that it is because of category blocking somewhere in the filter actions ?

    Well, it doesn't work when Decrypt and Scan is turned on, but it does work when Decrypt and Scan is turned off. If I try to create an exception for the category that GoodReads is in, it doesn't work. If I exclude that category from scanning in the profile, it does work.

    What else could it be given those parameters? (honest question)
