HTTPS scanning | Handling bad certs?

Just curious, how does Sophos deal with a bad certificate on a website when https scanning is done?

Does Sophos redirect users to a webpage saying there is something wrong with the cert, or provide a bad cert to fire a warning in the users browser?

    It displays a bad certificate warning message to the user and does not allow the traffic.

    If I recall correctly, there is also a hyperlink on that page which leads to an admin login and an auto-generated exception to turn off certificate validation for the site.
