Howto access internet when UTM is down

I am pretty sure this has been asked before but I can't find any such option or thread / document on how.

My question is how do I allow my clients to still be able to access the internet when the UTM server goes down?  I only installed the endpoint security client (No hardcoded proxy).

Thanks

  • Hot-Standby does require separate hardware but does not require manual intervention.  In fact the failover typically happens so fast that you wouldn't lose a ping.  The only interruptions are to connection-sensitive conversations like VoIP and file up/downloads.

Without Hot-Standby, you have to disconnect the Internet from the UTM and connect it to some other router that is connected to your LAN.  All manual intervention and everything would be interrupted.
