quota by device

Hi, I want to be able to quota/restrict access to youtube (this is the main problem area at the moment).
I can't do it by user as there are android devices and consoles that don't prompt.

I have set up reserved addresses for each device and grouped users of those devices into network ranges.

Is there a way I can quota\throttle these network ranges for use of youtube on a daily basis?

Thanks

  • I am searching for the same answer. I was able to setup everything up, but the issue is the prompt window that asks the user how much of their time they want to use. Some devices, like smart TV/DVD players will obviously not display the prompt and won't work. Is there a way to silence the prompt and just use whatever is left of remaining quota?

I think that's what the original poster was also asking.

    Thanks!

  • No that is not possible.  There is no way to quota a non-user interactive device.  You could however set time policies on it that only allow access at certain hours of the day.
