Hi all,
Running Windows 8 Pro (RTM) on a couple of machines from my Technet subscription and I was testing out Windows Update. After setting up the update client (just like Windows 7), I noticed that the Windows 8 machines were not getting any updates, and verified the update was erroring out.
The web protection log isn't very clear at all about whether or not it is being blocked. At first glance, reading the log, it looks like it has allowed the update, when in fact it did not. So, the fast method of verifying it was adding it to my WiFi outside of Astaro. As soon as that happened and checked for updates, I immediately got back 30 updates and one optional. [:O]
Going back to the Web Protection log, I grabbed the URL I saw it trying to connect to now - (v4.download.windowsupdate.com) and added it to the existing Windows Update exception that is built in to Astaro Web Protection exceptions. Update works.
Just some FYI in case anyone had any issues with this.
