Single Click Webfilter And Country Blocking Bypass Without Username, Password, Or Reason

I'm a home user running Sophos UTM 9.315-2. Is it possible to let users (me) on one subnet bypass webfilter and country blocking pages without needing to authenticate? Reason being, I have everything set very restrictive and want to keep it that way on a regular basis. There are plenty of categories I want to block by default but need access to a site within those categories for only a few minutes so I can finish reading an article for example. I don't want to have to type in username, password, and a reason each time I encounter the block page. As I said, I'm home user and the only user on a particular subnet so I'm not concerned about the security of a single click bypass. I know I can create exemptions but that's more tedious than authenticating and most of these sites I'll only ever visit once after clicking the source link on some article -- never to return to again.

Thanks for reading and any suggestions you may have.

  • You can create a separate Webfilter profile for your subnet and set the forbidden categories to "Warn" instead of "Block". Then you have a "Proceed" button without authentication.

    Private Setup:

    • XG: HPE DL20 Gen9 (Core i3-7300, 8GB RAM, 120GB SSD) | XG 18.0 (Home License) with: Web Protection, Site-to-Site-VPN (IPSec, RED-Tunnel), Remote Access (SSL, HTML5)
    • UTM: 2 vCPUs, 2GB RAM, 50GB vHDD, 2 vNICs on vServer (KVM) | UTM 9.7 (Home License) with: Email Protection, Webserver Protection, RED-Tunnel (server)
  • Thanks, that's exactly what I was looking for. Any thoughts on a single click bypass for Country Blocking?
