How exactly do I allow specific websites that are being blocked?

Can someone please explain to me how I go about allowing access to specific websites that are being blocked because they are listed as uncategorised?

Every now and again I will get a user calling me trying to access a legitimate website that is being blocked by the web filter and what I have been trying to do is add the website/domain to the "allow these websites" section until the base policy "default content filter action", but this does nothing and I have to end up just adding their PC to the "skip transparent filter lists", just so they can access the site. Obviously this is the best thing I can do, but I am just not sure how the filter should work properly.

I am using a SG135w running fw9.509-3, I am using Transparent mode with AD SSO auth, which works fine.

I just don't know how to allow access to certain websites that are being blocked which shouldnt be.

HELP!

  • If you're having a problem with a specific URL, show us the line from the Web Filtering log where it was blocked.
