Can the UTM Marketplace AMI be used to simulate a CGW for proof-of-concept testing?

I am doing a proof-of-concept test that includes AWS VPC to customer site connectivity using hardware VPN. Rather than using physical gear, I'd like to do the initial testing in the cloud. Can I use the UTM AMI as a simulated CGW that connects to a VGW in another VPC? I'm not sure this is  feasible given how VPCs drop IP packets that are not TCP or UDP.

  • Hi, Jeff, and welcome to the UTM Community!

I would think that this would work, but I'm not familiar with packets being dropped if using a wide open Security Group.  If you are a Sophos reseller, you can generate a demo license to put this on a PC in your office or on an instance in AWS.  If you're not a Sophos reseller, you can choose one that has this capability.
