Which ACC package for ESXi?

Hello,

whick package is the best one for the new ACC V3 running as virtual Appliance on ESX 4.1 or ESXi 5?

"acc-3.000-esx-v4.zip" or "acc-3.000-vmware.zip"

Best regards, Tom

  • Hi Tom

I would recommend a fresh installation with the software .iso over the preinstalled appliances

    ftp://ftp.astaro.de/Astaro_Command_Center/v3/software_appliance/iso/latest_acc_v3_software.iso

Use Other linux x64 as template, and Intel e1000 or VMXNET3 as NIC, and you should be fine. All required VMWare drivers are also in the software package [;)]
  • I would add that I've gotten good results under ESXi 4.x and 5.x using the following settings:

OS:  SUSE Linux Enterprise 11 (64-bit)
MEMORY: 2GB (I manage a lot of systems, I'd run at least 1GB)
CPUS: I have 2 cores allocated, but for lesser-loaded systems, 1 is fine.
    HD Controller: LSI Logic Parallel
HD:  160GB Thick Provision (you can use smaller, and thin provisioning, for smaller systems)
CD/DVD: Connected to install ISO initially, disconnected after install.
    NIC: E1000 Emulation.

I would use, as the other poster mentioned, the latest software ISO.
