ACC 3.0 VMWare requirements

I couldn't find the VMWare requirements for 3.0. Have they been defined already?

  • Alex, 1GB of ram is more then enough for most installations (depends on how many systems you plan to manage), and minimum of 1 CPU allocated to the VM.

The "vmware" file is for old versions of VMware Server, etc.  The ESX-v4 one is for ESX/EXSXi V4 or newer -- at least that's how the old naming scheme worked (there should be, but isn't, a readme file in the directory to point out the differences).  I still recommend just installing from ISO.

Check out http://download.astaro.com/ACC/v2/virtual_appliance/ACC_V2-2_Virtual_Appliance_Readme.pdf  for some info on how these Virtual Appliances are deployed -- note that this file is for Version 2.2, but most of it will apply to Version 3.   My guess is that they just haven't published an updated readme file yet to the V3 directory.

  • Alex, I actually downloaded one of the files... the Readme file you need to review is embedded in the zip file.  I've attached a copy of it to this post for your perusal, it should answer your questions.
