Move RED to new network

I have a RED connected to a static public IP. We are changing this site's data connection from a pubic IP'd internet circuit to an internal intersite WAN. Our UTM is already connected to the new subnet on a different interface.

Is this change as simple as changing the RED's IP address and then having somone at the remote office switch the network cable to the new circuit?

  • Hello Steve,

It will be so easy if the change is correct. First change the ip address and wait until the RED is no longer reachable by the UTM. Then leave a few minutes and then change over.

If you have done everything right, the RED comes back online.

But make sure that the change is correct right away. Be sure to pay attention to the setting static or dynamic ip. An error here is hard to fix.
