Routing across RED link (UTM as RED) not working after update to 9.356

We have a client with two sites. The main site has several subnets, on different interfaces of the UTM. The remote site has one subnet. Communications between the sites was facilitated by RED link (UTM as RED). This has been working perfectly for some time.

On Friday evening the firmware was updated at both sites (9.355 to 9.356).  This morning (Monday) the client reported that inter-site comms is not working.

I am unable to ping devices on the opposite side of the link, from whichever side I try.

Any thoughts/suggestions on what might have happened with this release to break routing between REDs?

    Hi, Bob, and welcome to the UTM Community!

    Occasionally, an Up2Date will mangle the configuration file upgrade.   This probably only happen on one of the two devices.  In one device, try restoring the 9.355 backup made by the process. If that doesn't solve the problem, do the same on the other machine.

    If that doesn't work, try deleting the RED configuration on both sides and re-creating the connection.

    If the problem persists, it's time to get Sophos Support involved.
