Hosted VOIP With Red50

We have a client who will be getting a UTM320 for their main location and a RED50 for their satellite location and will be running a hosted VOIP solution in both locations. Having never completed a setup like this with Sophos products before, is there anything we should be aware of? I know VOIP can be tricky and would like to take out any roadblocks beforehand if possible

  • What about configuring the VLANs? Since this will be a remote site, with its own IP range, what would be the best way to handle the VLANs?
  • This setup is now being implemented and we have some questions ...

First, is there a way to send Web Surfing traffic to the UTM for filtering, but allow everything else to exit the RED50's local internet connection?

Second, we'll be installing a hosted VOIP phone system here with two VLANS (10 = Data, 20 = Voice). Is there a way to handle those VLANs on the RED and send the VLAN traffic to its proper destination (ie: VLAN 10 Web Suring > UTM, VLAN 10 Third Party > Local ISP, VLAN 20 Voice > Local ISP)

Lastly, there is some traffic that needs to exit a local router. Does that traffic have to run across the VPN, find a Static Route and then come back to the RED to hit the local device?
