VLANs over RED

Hi,

tried to transfer VLANs over a RED 50 in Standard/Unified mode.
The uplink on the switch to the RED is configured as trunk port, transferring all packets with suitable VLAN tags. Also, the according interface on the UTM is configured as Ethernet VLAN on the RED interface.

When I do not use VLANs everything is working as expected, but no packet is transferred when it comes to tagged packets.

On the UTM the most recent updates are installed (9.109).

I thought that the RED 50 would do VLANs only beginning with 9.2. see https://community.sophos.com/products/unified-threat-management/astaroorg/f/52/t/29279.

In the manual in the RED section is mentioned that in Standard/Split and Transparent/Split modes no VLAN tagged frames are transferred:
"Note – VLAN tagged frames cannot be handled with this operation mode. If you
use a VLAN behind your RED appliance, use the Standard operation mode
instead."
So, in my opinion this should work...
Or is it the same scam as with Active/Active HA since 9.x?

I understand that with 9.2 it will be possible to configure all the ports of the RED 50 with different functionality, e.g. VLAN tagging only on port 2.

Hi,

just got confirmation from Sophos Global Descalation Support: the feature is first available in 9.2 although it is already mentioned in 9.1 manuals...
