RED 50 x USB

Hi All,

I've several difficults to use a Huawei USB modem in the RED 50.

Anyone know if are a limited USB modems supported or stuff ?

In Advanced, the RED50 have 2 USB ports, the both are to use with modems ?

Is possible use two modems as failover with different mobile operators ?

Hi, Marc,

3G/UMTS devices supported by Sophos RED10 rev.2/3 and Sophos RED50 rev.1

One modem and one for the Sophos Wireless AP 5.

Hey BAlfson, thx by your help.

The USB ports are just identified byt port 1 and 2 not for modem and ap.

The modem can be used in any usb port or is need used in one of them ?

Marc, you can use either one for a modem or an AP 5.

Hi Marc,
the USB port can be used for 3 use cases.
1 and 2 as Bob said is using one single AP5 and one single UMTS stick, the 3rd option is to use the new offline provisioning feature which allows you to deploy the RED without using the online provisioning server by copying the config on a USB stick. I already heard the question for usage of a 2nd UMTS stick, if you want to you can write a feature request in our feature portal, then your idea is triggered by us.
