How to minimize network traffic to RED

I have several sites that use RED 10 devices to provide a VPN via cable or cellular internet connections. I am wanting to add very remote site using a satellite internet connection with limited bandwidth. I wanted to get an idea of the network traffic involved with using a RED 10 so I used Wireshark to monitor the traffic for a while. I am seeing about 6 UDP packets per second from the ASG to the RED10 (source port: 3400, dest. port 49338).

Is there a way to reduce this UDP traffic?

  • Hi, and welcome to the User BB!

"source port: 3400, dest. port 49338" - that sounds like responses to the RED just checking to be sure it has its connection.  Please ask your reseller to submit this question to Sophos.  I'm not optimistic, but they might have a work-around.
