I know of several people that had a bricked RED rev.1; they had to buy a new RED rev.2.
In the USA, all REDs have been rev.2 this year, I think. If you paid full price for these units, I think you should ask the partner for replacement. If you got them for a cheap proce, I recommend you use your savings to buy the 2-year advance-replacement upgrade.
