Clients thru RED within Domain Structure

Hi everybody,

with the big help from tom (thanks a lot) in this forum I have created a brigded system with the RED box an the normal internal NIC. All clients will receive a IP from the internal DHCP and also the IP telephones are working well.

BUT - is there any way to bring the clients from our external office in our domain ?? That will make much things easier for everybody.... I have already tried nearly everything, but when I want to bring the PC in the domain there is the relevant DC and AD Server not found.

Is this possible ????

    Yes, you can, but it probably depends how you have the RED connected. 

    I have mine set up as a separate subnet for the remote location. 

    So, you'll need to add that subnet as a new AD site and then add the appropriate packet filters.

    Here's a link to a microsoft KB about the ports to be used. The list will vary depending on the services you use. I simply watched the packet filter Live View and watched what was being blocked. Then added those services to a Microsoft Networking Group that I created.

    IIRC, ICMP needs to be turned on as well. Between the two zones. 

    I've you're bridged, it may be transparent already. (I've not done it that way).
