RED: slow Upload from extern

Hi,

in our extern company we are testing the Astaro RED Device to connect the extern LAN to our intern.
Extern we have a Internet Connection we 6000/512 (Down-/Upstream). Intern we have a Internet Speed of 16000/1024 (Down-/Upstream).

Our Problem is that extern we only get a upstream-speed of about 10,2kbit (tested with iperf and several Clients, WinXP SP3). However downstream is good. 
We use a Fritz!Box as Router, so we changed the Router already, but the Upload-Speed was so slow as with the fritzbox.
Because of that we send our RED Device to our technical suppot. He tested the RED Device by connecting a test PC in his company to our ASG 320 with our RED Device and he can't determine any mistakes (also tested with iperf).


Does anyone have this problem?

    we have a similar problem very slow over reds, 15 mb or higher lines at both ends but nothing goes higher then 1.5mb. also we had a really bad time getting xp machines to work we had to lower the MTU to 1350 on the connections in the ASG? We found an article on windows scaling that that led us to the MTU setting.

    Hi guys,

    now we have changed our XP-client and tested the Upload-Speed by using a Windows 7-Client.
    Now we have a very good upload-speed of about 480kbit/s of 512kbit-DSL-Upload-line.

    Also we don't get any lsasrv-errors in the events throughout the Kerberos authentication. We suspect that windows XP tries the authentication with UDP-Packets while windows vista and win 7 use TCP. So if UDP packets will be fragmented it will discarded due the VPN-connection and the connection interrupts. On teh other hand TCP-packets will be send again.

    At the moment we have no idea why the connection is so slowly at XP-clients but we are trying to find out it and tell you then.

    Have either of you started a support case with Astaro?  This is something I'm sure they'd like to take a look at.

    For what it's worth, my experiences with RED have not had the issues that are being described here.  What version of the ASG software / firmware are you using?
