Grund:

Zugehöriger DHCP-Server ist konfiguriert auf „Clients with static mappings only“ (Network Services -> DHCP -> Edit -> Advanced).

Im DHCP-Log sieht man, dass eine DHCP-Anfrage von der MAC-Adresse des Netzwerkports eth0 der RED abgewiesen wird.

Reserviert man diese MAC-Adresse bleiben das Wifi-Modul/-AP aktiv.

In diesem Fall hatte es nichts mit der DHCP-Option 234 oder der magic IP 1.2.3.4 zu tun.
