Red 60 limited throughput

Hello community,

we have a throughput problem at a site with a new red 60. On that site we recently got new cable internet with 600 Down / 40 UP. Therefore the new RED. Router shows that this speed is available. Our UTM SG210 is connected at our main office via fibre 1GBit / 1 GBit.

Red 60 is set up with "Standard / Unified" mode and a second WAN (slow 16 / 2) for failover. All traffic is sent outside via a proxy for web protection.

If i make several online speed tests i just get 135 / 5 behind the red 60. Main office looks good.

Any thoughts what could go wrong here?

Thanks for your help, I greatly appreciate it.

  • Hallo Erik,

When you say, "Router shows that this speed is available."  Are you talking about the ISP's router in the remote office?

You will probably want to play with your Intrusion Prevention settings.  Snort is single-threaded.  I would also recommend doing other tests, for example, timing a file download from a server in the main office and timing an upload.

    Cheers - Bob
