Disconnect Loop RED 15 -

Hi,

ich have a very strange problem with the new RED 15.

Setting:

UTM 9.350-12 at the main office

RED 15 with static IP behind an LTE-router at the remote location

After the first configuration everything works fine. But after some hours the RED diconnect and reconnected every minute.

After a reboot of the UTM (or if i deactivate the RED for some hours)  the connection is stable for some hours.

Other RED devices (RED10) at the same UTM works fine.
Any ideas?

    Unfortunately not :(

    The support seems to have problems to understand the problem. Unfortunately I get no feedback at all. And when I am asking about the status, the only answer was that my SG125 is too small and our customer should buy a bigger one. But I think my workaround shows thats not the case.

    That adding a RED10 device solves the Problem is interresting. Will try that here as well.

    I have been working with our team here to identify the best way to address the issue we are seeing.

  • Anything new?? I have still have the problem, RED10 is working perfect RED15 is not working.
    Tunnel stay blinking but the UTM shows connected but with 0kb in and 0kb out!

    It is a serious problem and we are waiting for fix since 10th november.

  • The same for me. The problem is still unsolved. Tried it with 3 different ISPs at 3 different locations and different connection types (unwired[LTE], wired with fix public IP and wired with dynamic public IP). But in all cases I see the same issue (RED connect-RED disconnect-RED connect,...). RED 10 works fine.

  • This is not a solution, but more a workaround, but this needs definately to be fixed.

    Try to call your ISP, I have fixed this two times now by calling the ISP and telling them about the problem, in one case the port was simply blocked,and in another case, the ISP's IPS did block the new RED v2 tunnel port.

    But Sophos needs to do a fix for this, maybe change the port to TCP if possible.

    And a Question to the Sophos Staff: Is it possible to let the Admin chose between UDP/3410 and TCP/3400?

  • Yes I have several places where it just worked plug and play, but also others where it did go wrong do to the ISP IPs issues. mainly when the ISP is using Juniper head-ends...

  • Currently it is not possible to configure the ports. As was already correctly stated before, RED 15 uses the same protocols as RED 50 (UDP/3410 and TCP/3400).
  • Could you please check the kernel log? Are there many lines 'auto-removing peer / Autoadd peer' for the respective RED15s?
