Hotspot WLAN over PC

Hi,

My colleague has a co-worker who has installed a software for conntect the mobiles over the PC (mhotspot.com).

We are discussing if we can block this kind of connection over the Sophos UTM. It's possible? If, yes, how? Thank you for your help.

Best regards

  • This is no different than a person bringing in a private wireless AP and hooking it up.  The only defense must come from top management - your employee policy book must make it clear that adding a wireless access point or configuring one's PC to act as one will be punished.  The IT manager may need to explain this to top management if it's one of them causing the problem.
