LTE (4G) to Ethernet?

Need some assistance please.
Purchase an Optus branded Huawei branded E5186 wireless broadband router. Flashed successfully and so now have access to bridge mode.
Before setting bridge mode tested internet connection and all is ok.

Now put into bridge mode and connected to my Sophos UTM V9.4 (this has been working for many years connected to my very slow ADSL2 connection with an old d-link modem in bridge mode) I have updated the external interface to show, type, Ethernet with Dynamic IPv4 and gateway selected. Interface shows as UP with IP Addresses assigned. DNS Forwarders are set to ISP and also are showing correct IP. However, no internet??

I can tracert to external IP as shown on the interface, shows not hops in between, but tracert to any other IP e.g. google stops at the UTM DNS/Gateway address and then times out.

Tried various setups with no luck and so hoping someone can assist. Many Thanks.

  • Have you tried using the 'who-are-we' on your PC in bridge mode? does it work then?

  • Hi Jason,

Can you please provide some more detail and explanation of how to use as I am unfamiliar with what you suggest.

    Thanks

  • Hi Dean and welcome to the UTM Community!

The first thing I would try is an Up2Date to 9.506.  If that doesn't help, try #7.7 in Rulz.  Any luck with either of those?

    Cheers - Bob
PS I didn't follow Jason's suggestion either.  This exchange reminds me of the old joke about England and the USA - Two peoples separated by a common language! ;-)
