In the german translation there is an error in SSL-VPN Remote access

it should be "Auto-Firewall ist an"

  • That's funny, Chris, because all of this was originally created by Germans! [:D]

  • The question is, what was the original German wording? To me as member of the Central Bavarian dialect group an sounds, well, very "German". And did Germans have a say in the translation from English back to German? [:D]

    Christian

  • Hi

    thanks for your reply.

    Yeeeee- quite funny . Agree.

Maybe, it happened whilst translation to english and than back to german ... we all don't know.

But: This is about firewall rules, right ?

so the full sentence should be: The Auto Firewall Rules are enabled

in german: Die Automatischen Firewall Regeln sind aktiviert

in german (in colloquial language) you can say "an" for "aktiviert"

or "on" instead of "activated" right ?

So .. i mean this is quite off topic but should concern sophos, cause astaro, what sophos utm used to be - as we all know - is german, located approx ~2km from my company in Karlsruhe ;-)

    What ever ...

    Cheers,

    Chris

  • Hello Chris,

you can say "an" for "aktiviert"
perhaps in Karlsruhe [:D]. Just kidding.
As technician I'd say: Auto-firewall is part of a machine, it's a switch, the usual label is ein. If you want something that's not an abbreviation (eingeschaltet) and sounds really German what about tätig und untätig?

    Christian

  • Vielleicht, weil der Port "auf" ist :-)

Nur einer der Punkte, warum ich die UTM nur auf englisch administriere. Auch bei der Suche hier im Forum tust Du Dich wegen der Begrifflichkeiten leichter.

  • Found another one...

    'aktuapisiert' should be 'aktualisiert'
