Hello!
I'm using Sophos UTM home edition on a virtual machine, today the UTM updated to 9.500-9. The update itself was fine and the UTM came back up but I found one of the VLAN'd network cards wasn't allowing traffic out onto the internet.
I have 4 Virtual Adaptors.
1 - Internet Access via Upstream UTM
2 - Internal LAN for Virtual UTM
3 - Test LAN (VLAN23) - Set to VLAN ID 23 in Hyper-V Settings too.
4 - Test WLAN via AP10 in VLAN as well.
All of these were happily working until the update/reboot where Test LAN was unable to acquire an IP address. I thought it was the Client machine at first but when the UTM tools also failed to trace route to the internet I suspected a faulty update.
After lots of messing about I decided to disable the Test LAN network card from the Hyper-V console, at which point I noticed the Upstream Link went down instead...odd!
So all I did was go into the Hyper-V Settings, reassign the VLAN ID and all started working again...
Obviously as this is a test LAN no issues occurred but I wondered if there was anyway to make sure this doesn't happen again? I don't want to have to guess which card is which each time the UTM reboots or updates!
Thanks
