Dear all
First: thanks to Sophos for such an amazing home use product. I use it for years since early astaro.
Second: This, or at least similar questions, have been asked in this community. My apologies for bothering - but the answers weren't too clear (to me) on the topics I have found.
I here have a Sophos UTM 9.4x running. I have learned from the switch' logs, that the WAN port of the firewall is running on 100 Mbit. Its sure a 1000 Mbit switch and other connected devices receive 1000 mbits connections.
To summarize my investigations so far: I have tried out two different brands of network cards, switched the cards from LAN to WAN port, put it into another machine, installed ESXi now. Manually set the switch port speed to 1000 Mbit full duplex and now, on ESXi, set the vmci1 card speed to 1000 Mbit. And yes, exchanged the cable.
All in all: with all the different settings I always had a WAN bandwith of 100 Mbit.
I only have two possibilities left to consider:
a. the switch port has a defect
b. Sophos UTM home is limited to 100 Mbit WAN bandwith
To my question: is it so, that the WAN bandwith is limited?
Kind regards
Oliver
by the way:
why is the standard MTU value set to 1500? Isn't the common default value 1581?
