Help! I can't get to the web portal

Hi,

I've just installed Sophos UTM in a VM. I can't get to the webAdmin. The page times out trying to load. I'm a network novice so please explain things in easy terms! All I've done so far is install the Sophos UTM OS in the VM.

do you have your computer in the same subnet as your newly installed UTM? You can see on the UTM itself what IP-address to connect to, it should be ie. https://192.168.2.100:4444

Your computer should also have an IP-address in that range, ie 192.168.2.10.

Thanks, I worked it out in the end (: I think it was because the default IP address for the UTM wasn't in my LAN's DHCP range so I set it to 192.168.1.252 which is in my DHCP range and now it works (:
