Export a config file

The company I work for was recently acquired by a larger holding company.  They are doing a full audit of our IT infrastructure and want a config file from the Sophos.  I see the printable config link under support, but I am not sure that is exactly what they are looking for.  Considering it is xml with links, I cannot export it to be a self-contained xml file that they could actually use.  At the bottom is the ability to view the full sheet, but that is rather convoluted since it has every single ounce of information from the UTM.  Is there a more basic, text based, config file that I can get my hands on that just has maybe the firewall, NAT and interfaces listed?

  • Jerry, there is a post out there that enables the full report to be exported from UTM using SSH and WINSCP. This is what I have used for this compliance measure.

    Hope I can post this...

  • Well, you can't export a config file because the configuration is a combination of a settings database and an objects database.  You can download a copy of a Configuration Backup or have it emailed directly to yourself and others.  You can save the HTML from the Configuration report.

That link you posted is actually to a copy of Goldy's post which is at the top of his Astaro useful shell commands thread at the top of the General Discussion sub-forum.
