New interface doesn't show up when in HA mode

I have the virtual UTM9 appliances in an HA pair.

I added a new network/interface to both VM's and rebooted them.

When i go into the interfaces (or hardware) tab and try to add the new one, there is nothing there. It should be eth6, but all I have are eth0-5 like I did before.

Any ideas?

    did you make a config backup and then reinstall?

    There were no kernel logs. I ended up shutting down the slave and then rebooting the master. The interface showed up. I configured it, then booted the slave. All is good, except I was a little bummed it required downtime since I had to have both UTM's powered down for a brief period. But I can live with that.
