Hi,
I am using Sophos UTM Home Edition and I'm setting up a third interface (1st is Eth0 to an ADSL router in bridged mode, 2nd is eth1 and is internal LAN - both of these are setup and working perfectly).
The new interface, eth2, is an ethernet link to an LTE router that I have set to transparent bridge mode. Through the Sophos UTM web interface, I set the interface to Ethernet and to Dynamic IP. The Dashboard then shows the State as DOWN and the link as UP. If I go to the terminal of the Sophos machine and type "ifconfig eth2", it shows that the interface has the correct ip address and subnet mask from the LTE router.
I have tried to set the IP address, gateway and subnet mask manually for the interface using the values below, and receive an error: "Interface address is invalid because it is a network or broadcast address of the network 'x.x.x.140/30'."
If I amend the subnet mask to /24, it all works perfectly with the connection working and by setting up multipath rules, I can access the internet using the LTE connection.
My issue is that I need to obtain the IP address for eth2 via DHCP as I do not have a static IP address on the LTE connection. It seems that the interface IS getting the correct ip address, subnet mask and gateway (verified from the terminal), but the web interface thinks that they are invalid values and therefore thinks the connection is in error state and refuses to route traffic via it.
The values for my connection are as follows:
IP address: x.x.x.140
Gateway: x.x.x.141
Subnet: /30 255.255.255.252
Is this a bug in the web interface or are these IP values invalid?
Thanks for your help
Mick
