I recently segregated my network between LAN and WLAN. When everything was on the same subnet, all functioned as expected.
My new configuration is:
LAN 192.168.10.0/24
WLAN 192.168.100.0/24
Firewall:
LAN -> ANY -> WLAN
WLAN -> ANY -> WAN
Plus all the typical egress stuff to access the internet/ssh/rdp, etc..
I can connect via any WLAN to LAN device using rdp, http, ssh, etc.
I can do the same from LAN to WLAN.
Unfortunately I have my Sonos audio system on the LAN and my Nexus Players (chromecast) on the LAN as well.
I cannot, from any of the WLAN devices, use the control software such as Sonos or Chromecast to connect to the devices on the LAN.
These software packages find devices by Multicast (i believe) which doesn't span subnets by default.
Can anyone give me clear and concise way to configure multicast in Sophos UTM?
So far, I've added the two networks to the interfaces but am unsure what to use for the RP router.
Also, how do I determine the routes? Do all multicast devices broadcast on the same address / port or must I find documentation on all protocols used in my network?
Thanks in advance for any help that can be provided!
Cheers,
M
