LAG configuration on already configured interfaces

Hello to the one reading,

Due to infrastructure changes, I would need to enable LAG on a couple of interfaces. Those interfaces are already configured with Ethernet VLANs and standard ethernet.

Can I enable LAG without losing the current configuration, or does it require to recreate everything once the aggregation has been applied ? In other words, will the second interface just be added to the current configuration ?

Thank you for your guidance,

Kind regards,

    Hi ,

    Thank you for reaching out to Sophos Community.

    Link Aggregation Group(LAG) consists of one configured interface and/or one or more unconfigured interfaces.

    For example:

    ==> eth0 and eth1 interfaces are configured on UTM. eth2 interface is unconfigured(unused).

    ==> LAG will allow you create a group between either eth0 & eth2 or between eth1 & eth2.

    ==> With LAG group(eth0&eth2 / eth1&eth2), the configuration of eth0/eth1 will remain same.

    ==> You can also configure LAG with eth2 and other unconfigured interfaces.

  • Salut Philippe et bienvenue - welcome to the UTM Community!

    As Yash said, you simply add the second interface to the current configuration - nothing lost.

    Cheers - Bob
