webadmin platform

Can I ask a very basic question on webadmin (very new to this area and havent configured/managed this before), is it like a management application installed on a windows server (similar to vCenter Server for VMWare infrastructure), and configured to look at your firewall devices, or is it more an embedded server management application installed the Firewall devices themselves. Im just trying to understand where certain configurations (i.e. webadmin users and permissions) are stored, and often such management tools have an underlying SQL Server DB/SQL Express DB, I wondered if that was the same for webadmin?

Thanks

  • WebAdmin manipulates databases of objects at the highest level. Some are PostgreSQL and some are plain text files. You might change one thing in WebAdmin and cause the config daemon behind the scenes to rewrite a hundred lines of code.
