UTM GUI Shows 48 IP addresses and count_active_ip.plx --showcount command shows 36 IP addresses

Hi Everybody,

First of all UTM Home edition rocks! Thumbs up for Sophos for making the UTM free for Home!

Recently I received a mail from my UTM telling me i'm at 90% of my active IP addresses.
When checking the system the UTM GUI at licensing shows 48 IP addresses and through SSH the count_active_ip.plx --showcount command shows 36 IP addresses (36 IP addresses which is correct).

When pinging the IP list a lot of dead IP addresses are still present in the list showing as "active" IP addresses.
Is there a command to clean out the dead IP addresses of do I have to wait 7 days?
Also I think some IP addresses are older then 7 days but are not removed from the list.

Already have tried: https://community.spiceworks.com/how_to/103441-reset-sophos-utm-active-ip-licence-count
Already have looked at: https://community.sophos.com/products/unified-threat-management/f/management-networking-logging-and-reporting/33749/reset-licence-active-ip-s

Thanks and regards!

  • Apparently, people were abusing the ability to reset the count, so, yes, you have to wait 7 days now.
