Configure Sophos to allow Outlook to connect to GMail - UTM9

Outlook - Sophos - Gmail

Currently running Sophos SG430 UTM9 Firmware 9.411-3 with Full-Guard. I have been tasked with configuring a classroom of workstations using Outlook 2013 to connect to Gmail accounts. How (POP or IMAP) is up to me. Currently the SG430 is configured for mail (Exchnage 2010 Server) and internet gateways.

I note a number of options to allow web access to Gmail but am finding it difficult to find anything around allowing Outlook to connect directly to Gmail. I am finding Sophos is not allowing communications.

Any help or steer in right direction will be much appreciated.

I am not aware that Outlook is capable of connecting to GMail at all.

First prove that it is possible with UTM bypassed, and then the logs will tell you what, if anything, needs to be tweaked for it to work with UTM enabled.
