using expressions in antispam filter

Hi

we had spams that not been filtered by the email protection, so i called the support and I was advised to use the expression filter, the way I have been told is to write the words at the content and subject

But when I wrote these words I got a problem with blocking non-related emails under that filter.

There must be a formula to write that expression which I asked for, but the support told me to write the word as it is

I guess I Need more help here

thanks

  • Hi, Leo, and welcome to the UTM Community!

    Without seeing a sample of what you want to block, it's difficult to be certain, but it sounds more like people getting on mailing lists they want off of, not like spam.

  • thanks for reply

    what are we having here is spam messages with the same subject and content but different domains, i need to use the expression filter but it made a problems for me when it blocked the other legit messages and senders

    i need to know can i block words like ...boy, girl because when you do boy on the filter it blocks the word boycott for example

    what i need is to block the exact word

    thanks

  • I've not seen that kind of a problem, but I believe that you can use  boy  with a space in front and behind it.  Does that work?

  • thanks for your reply

    its a problem because many important emails were blocked when i use the word (fu*k) in the expression filter

    many emails were considered a spam for the reason of using this filter (as the log said)

    so i want to make sure that the (spaces) will work before applying my execs will get crazy if they will not receive their emails again

  • I solved this and its working 100% now, if you want to block specific word you will have to do this expression, for example if you want to block the word "sales" you have to do this: (\bsales\b)
